She organized a ride to and from the airport for me and my parents and was available to answer any questions we had. She even had ingredients to make dinner the first night we got in! Perfect! Wonderful location, clean, and beautiful! We stayed for five days, and the apartment was everything we needed and hoped for on our first trip to Rome. It is so close to the coliseum but also lots of restaurants and shops. It is on a cute street literally steps from St. Peter's basilica - where the famous Michelangelo sculpture of Moses is. The apartment was the perfect size for me and my husband and our two kids. They were fine on the fold out couch in the living room. We used the patio a lot for evening snacks or breakfast or just hanging out. Elena was so friendly and helpful, and we felt welcome the minute we met her! We would definitely come back to this place again! I hope we do!

My husband and I enjoyed a week in this lovely apartment in May. It is in the Monti neighborhood which is central, not overrun with tourists, and yet a stone's throw from the Colloseum and Forum. Fun cafe's, trattoria's and delicious gelato are all in the neighborhood. The apt is clean and nicely decorated and has a comfortable queen size bed and shower with plenty of hot water. It is up two flights of stairs and on a quiet street that is accessed by stairs, so you want to be fine with that. The stairs were no problem for us, but would not have worked for my mother. The apt. has a large outdoor patio that is delightful for morning coffee, afternoon naps in the sun and views of Roman roof tops. We cannot recomend this apartment highly enough. It's a special place that will not dissapoint. Enjoy!

Rome est une ville magnifique et nous reviendrons. Merci énormément Elena.

Les ingrédients pour un petit déjeuner et pour faire des pâtes à la sauce italienne ! La petite terrasse. Emplacement parfait à 5 mn du Colisée et des métros Cavour et Colisée. Calme appréciable pour se reposer entre des journées de visite intenses, situé dans un environnement historique. Le quartier autour de l'appartement est pratique pour des petits commerces, restaurants ou manger sur le pouce. Notre hôte était super sympathique, attentionnée, arrangeante. Elle a fortement contribué à faire de notre séjour un moment inoubliable. Nous recommandons également sa proposition de taxi depuis l'aéroport. C'était parfait. Et Alessandro (notre taxi) était à l'image de notre hôte : sympathique et attentionné. Bref, nous recommandons vivement.

Appartment sehr sauber und (fast) alles vorhanden, was man für einen mehrtägigen Städtetrip so braucht - ich persönlich habe nur eine "richtige" Kaffeemaschine vermisst! In dem sehr bequemen Bett lässt es sich wunderbar schlafen und der Kleiderschrank bietet sehr viel Platz (sogar für einen Koffer). Das Highlight aber ist die großzügige Sonnenterrasse mit Sitzgelegenheiten. Hervorzuheben ist die optimale Lage der Unterkunft - ruhig, aber dennoch nahe am Geschehen (2 U-Bahnhöfe nur wenige Minuten entfernt, zum Colosseum gelangt man zu Fuß in ca. 5 Minuten, Restaurants, Bars, Supermärkte in unmittelbarer Umgebung, ...). Herzlichen Dank an Elena, meiner besonders netten Gastgeberin, die dafür gesorgt hat, dass ich am ersten Abend nicht verhungern musste - alles, was man zum Kochen einer Pasta benötigt, war vorhanden - sogar ein Rezept - und auch für das Frühstück war bereits vorgesorgt worden! Sollte ich noch einmal eine Reise nach Rom planen, würde ich sofort wieder diese Unterkunft wählen - war sehr zufrieden und empfehle das Appartment zu 100% weiter!!!

Great location and very comfortable accommodation for our family of four. Terrace was lovely. Also appreciated the thoughtful welcome snacks and dinner ingredients. Five minute taxi from Rome Termini station. Restaurant recommendations and even power adapters were provided. We would stay at Elenas place again!

A Perfect Choice

We chose this apartment for our week in Rome based on location, pictures, and the many 5-star reviews. We were very happy with our choice and have already recommended it to friends. It is clean, quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced, and well situated for walking or taking the metro to Rome’s attractions. There are restaurants nearby in the Monti but most evenings we picked up groceries in the shops on the Via Cavour and enjoyed dining on our private terrace. The owner Elena was an excellent host, responding quickly to emails, and providing a personal orientation to the apartment on arrival. Tip: do take advantage of the private airport pick-up that she will arrange if requested - comparable rates to a taxi and so convenient.

The Best in Rome

We booked this apartment for our two week vacation to Rome based on the pictures and review posted on VRBO and were pleased to find it more spacious and convenient than expected. The rooms were spotless and fully equipped. We especially enjoyed our breakfast and evening cool down on the patio. Elena had thought of everything; a pasta meal basket, maps, umbrellas, guide books, and a list of nearby restaurants. The location could hardly be more convenient. It is ten to fifteen minute walk to the train station and right next door to St. Peter-in-Chains which houses Michelangelo's Moses. Two minutes down the street we could get our morning Americano at the Cafe Mose, and just a few minutes further were the Coliseum and The Forum. The apartment is located in the Monti District (see Rick Steves Rome for a full description) with all its restaurants and boutiques. But what made our stay in Rome even more enjoyable was the graciousness and the efficiency of our hostess Elena. She had arranged pickup and drop off for us at the airport. Communications with Elena and payment arrangements was so easy. Thank you Elena.

Quiet, safe location, bright clean apartment, super landlord

We have stayed in the Monti several times and know the area. This apartment, separated from the more street active area of the Monti, provides a nice respite. Greeted by Elena - lovely lady who speaks very good English. The apartment was very clean with lots of light. The photos of the apartment were a good representation. The living room was small, but adequate with a comfortable convertible couch and a TV that did have some English speaking channels. It opened onto a terrace with a nice area for sitting and having a drink in the evenings. The kitchen again was small with an adjacent dining area, both well lighted. The bedroom had a generous set of closets and shelves for hanging clothes and storing a few things. Very little room for an open suitcase and really no room for two open suitcases. The bedroom was not well lighted, but had very nice reading lights for reading in bed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom was well organized and very well lighted. The washing machine was located in the bathroom and worked well. Very nice mirror over the sink, but no full length mirror. The shower was typical Italian with a shower head on a hose that could be adjusted up and down as well as hand held. Unfortunately, I contracted stomach flu and spent my days mostly reading or sometimes watching American westerns in Italian. We had to cut our trip short an take an earlier plane home and Elena arranged for a driver to take us to the airport. She was so concerned and sorry for my problems, that she personally paid for the driver. That's what anyone would call more than generous hospitality. Most assuredly, we will stay with Elena again the next time we are in Rome.

Great location and lovely patio

Loved this easily accessible apartment that was very well equipped and convenient . It was very close to the cavour subway (although three sets of stairs) The owner provided maps, a welcome food kit and was extremely flexible as our arrival time was delayed a few hours. Was lovely having a glass of wine on the patio . Perfect for a couple. So close to the colosseum that you feel part of history

Stayed for 4 nights in May. Elena was a superb host and she went above and beyond to ensure that our stay in Rome was comfortable and easy. Location is great, the place is clean and well-equipped, and the large patio was perfect for relaxing between visits to all of Rome's sights. Niedliches Appartment in super Lage im typisch italienischen Stil.

Sehr hübsch eingerichtetes Appartment. Vermieterin Elena ist sehr freundlich. Tolle Lage. Öffentliche Parkplätze in 50m Entfernung. (tagsüber sehr voll, morgens abends und am Wocheende kein Problem) Tagesgebühr 7,- Euro. Polizeistation in der Nähe gibt ein gutes Gefühl. Super ist auch die Terasse.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. We were in close walking distance to the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and many other treasures of Rome. The apartment was very clean and perfect for us! We enjoyed time relaxing on the terrace. Can't say enough good things about Elena- she was incredibly welcoming, easy to get ahold of, and provided a lot of helpful information for things to do in the area. She even provided all the essentials for Roman "pasta amatriciana" and a few other items. Would certainly stay here again!

Elena has a driver who picked us up, thankfully! and dropped us right at the door where Elena was awaiting our arrival. the flat is very clean and comfortable with all amenities needed for a comfortable stay in Rome. she was very helpful with reservations for dinner and had pasta and all necessary fixings waiting in the kitchen in case we decided to cook in that night (which we did!). there is a market, subway 5 minutes walk with the coliseum around the corner. A quiet neighbourhood which was very safe. The flat has a great terrace which we used- ate breakfast, dinner and enjoyed wine on. the bed was comfortable and lines very nice. there are many windows so despite being there during a hot time in Rome, we were very comfortable and actually closed up windows that faced the quiet street below. Some windows face into an enclosed courtyard so are very quiet, no street noise. We enjoyed her flat very much and have recommended it to friends who are contemplating a trip to Rome. Would definitely stay here again!!!

COZY APARTMENT IN GREAT LOCATION

We had a wonderful stay at our apartment close to the Coliseum, Roman Forum and metro station. The apartment was clean and looked exactly like the photos. The terrace was especially lovely. Elena was very pleasant and helpful and arranged for a friendly driver to pick us up and bring us to the apartment. We had a small issue with the shower door being unsteady, but otherwise we still feel the apartment and owner deserve five stars. The only item I would note to anyone considering staying there is that there is a rather steep staircase that leads to some nice streets with restaurants and shopping, but Rome is hills so just expect to be walking up and down a lot. We absolutely enjoyed our stay in the apartment and hope to stay there again someday!

WONDERFUL STAY FOR OUR HONEYMOON

We had an amazing experience with this location! The hostess arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport so that we did not have to worry about the train or taxi. Hostess met us there and even had some complimentary snacks for us. The patio is a HUGE plus! We sat out there each evening before and after dinner while enjoying our wine. Apt. is cozy and quiet. Easy to walk to everywhere and very easy to use public transport from this location. I want to stress one very important thing about our visit. The airline lost one of my bags and they were to deliver it that evening. They were supposed to call my phone and schedule a time to deliver, but they ended up calling the owner of the apt. We had gone ahead and headed out to dinner. The owner promptly called and emailed to let us know of the arrival time for the luggage. Well, they showed up early and we were not there to accept the luggage. They called the owner and she arranged for someone to meet the luggage guy and when we got home the luggage was right there waiting for us. EXTREMELY helpful and we very much appreciated the communication and help from the owner. We highly recommend this apt for not only the coziness and location, but also for the attention to detail exhibited by the owner!

Cosy in the heart of it and a very cool flat

The flat was in a fantastic spot, close to lots of cute cobbled streets with wonderful restaurants boutiques and bars. It was quiet but right in the heart of things easy to walk everywhere. The terrace at the back was idyllic for late afternoon aperitivos and we really enjoyed that one day before popping out to dinner up the road that has lots of choices! The flat is v near the coliseum and the ruins so super easy for sightseeing too. Elena was a lovely host and so helpful too, she let us keep our bags there a little longer so we could enjoy our last day and left us some lovely goodies too! We will definitely be back!

A little gem in the heart of Rome

Everything great!!! The apartment was just perfect, with the outside terrace being a real bonus for that chilled glass (or two) of prosecco before dinner. The location was also brilliant - only 200m from the Coliseum and close to all the other “must see”places. In addition, the owner Elena did everything to make our stay great, including arranging transfers from the airport for us and providing some goodies (pasta, coffee etc.) for our stay.

Rent this Apartment!

Location is outstanding - it is right by the Coliseum, two metro stops, and a grocery store. The patio is a comfortable, the kitchen very functional (no microwave, but no biggie). The home is cool in the heat. And Elena is absolutely amazing!

We stayed in this wonderful apartment in April / beginning of May. The apartment is very well located, near the Coliseum, with almost all the things you would like to see in Rome within a 45 minute/ 1 hour walk. There are also two Metro stops within 2/3 minutes of the apartment as well as a major bus stop and a taxi stand. Despite it’s central location, and many people close by, it is very quiet and is very secure. The entrance door to the building is locked and the apartment has an excellent double locking system. It may also help that there is a police station just down the street. The apartment itself is very comfortable, very clean and very well maintained. The living room served us well, the kitchen is small but well equiped and very functional. The eating/office area is very pleasant and the bedroom is fine with a comfortable bed and lots of closet space. The bathroom, with shower only, no bath, was very functional. A small washing machine was also there. There was lots of tourist information on Rome, including maps and umbrellas for a rainy day. The part of the apartment, that sets it aside from others, is the very nice patio area, where it is very enjoyable to have breakfast or dinner. It was unfortunate that a cool April didn’t allow us to use it more. The WiFi worked perfectly; there is a television in the living room and bedroom with a satellite receiver and a few international channels and; there are numerous of electrical outlets (Italian 2 prong socket). For the neighbourhood there is at least 40 restaurants of all levels within a 15 minute walk of the apartment. a good supermarket (Elite), some mini markets (for Sunday), a Laundromat, a hardware and any number of small general stores are also very close by. Elena, the owner, was wonderful. All queries on the booking of the apartment and payments were answered promptly with all the required information. Our transportation from (and to) the airport was arranged in advance and went very smoothly. Elena was there to greet us and to get was settled. She provided us with some basic things that we could use if we didn’t want to go shopping right away. Two issues with the apartment, during our time there, were dealt with immediately and to our compete satisfaction. We could not have been provided with better service. This apartment is HIGHLY recommended!!!

The apartment is very comfortable and well maintained. The kitchen has variety of cooking utensils (unlike other places we rented). Having a patio is wonderful. The location in Monti is great. It's a short walk to the metro station, restaurants, shops and Roman ruins, but away from the crowds of major tourist areas. Elena is a wonderful hostess. She met us at arrival and came to say goodbye. She also provided a basket with pasta makings and other treats, which came in handy our first night since it rained. We highly recommend this apartment.

My wife and I are happy to submit another 5-star rating for Elena and her flat in the Monti neighborhood in Rome. She is a gracious and helpful host, and the location could not be better if you want to be within easy walking distance of the Forum, Palatine Hill, and many of the city's best known sites. Elena can also direct you to some very good eating places nearby. Two special features are the amazing outdoor terrace, and the wonderful streets of Monti's center -- just a few blocks away along Serpenti. They are both enjoyable retreats after a day out in the more crowded areas of town.... We highly recommend Elena and her beautiful apartment!

My husband and I stayed at Elena's beautiful, clean and comfortable apartment for a week in September. We enjoyed the goodies that Elena left for us for our first meal on the perfect private patio. We had all we could ask for and more. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a great size, shower was great and very clean. We had all the comforts of home in the kitchen as well. There was a grocery store nearby with everything we needed to make our breakfast and aperitivo each evening. Loads of excellent restaurants within walking distance. Five minutes away from the Colliseum, Roman Forum, etc. Excellent WIFI connection. We absolutely loved the neighbourhood! Safe and quiet too. Elena provided us with a driver to and from the airport which was very worthwhile. She provided us with a map and lots of information about the neighbourhood. In addition, she met us on time both upon our arrival and departure. We were so sad to leave and would recommend this apartment to anyone who wishes to visit Rome. This is a very conveniently situated and wonderfully decorated apartment that was perfect for our Rome vacation. Everything is close by this ancient neighborhood where our guide told us Julius Caesar was born; one of Michelangelo’s last sculptures (statue of Moses) is in the church a stone’s throw away across narrow alley. We walked everywhere with no difficulty. Only once or twice we used the taxi stand conveniently located in front of a hotel down some city stairs and across the street. I hesitate to share this secret, but we found an excellent, hidden, non-touristy restaurant nearby called al Chiostro – look it up! Elena arranged for a driver to pick us up at the airport and was very nice to meet us early on arrival to hold our bags until the apartment was available.

We loved our stay at Residenza Sette Sale this summer. The apartment was well furnished, very clean and had every amenity we anticipated including complimentary pasta, sauce and snacks. The location was ideal - a short walk to the Colosseum. The sun-splashed patio was a pleasant surprise - perfect spot to enjoy a morning coffee or an afternoon glass of wine. The owners, Elena Sala, and her family stopped by for a visit - they are wonderful. They were extremely helpful and wanted to be sure we enjoyed our stay. Additionally, Elena arranged a car & driver to transport us to & from the airport - extremely convenient! We would recommend this apartment to our friends. 1 small item - it was very hot in late July - and the apartment does not have A/C so a couple fans would be nice to keep the apartment a bit cooler.

Definetely next time again. Elena answered immediately when necessary. Perfect spot to be while staying in rome with the Monti around the Corner. La terazza was great to have for the evenings to end the day. We didn´t miss anything

We absolutely loved our stay at Elena's fabulous apartment in Rome. It is in a brilliant location, so close to the Colosseum and the Roman Forum, with many other attractions within easy walking distance. The apartment itself was very clean and well appointed, with everything we needed for our stay, and even a welcome meal and recipe set out for us to cook if we wished! We did, and it was delicious :) We enjoyed some time on the outfoor terrace, and the neighbourhood itself felt very safe. It ws nice and quiet, while still being very close to everything. And it was great to have such inexpensive parking so close. Sadly we couldn't meet Elena in person, but she made sure we had easy access to the property and she was only a message or call away if we needed anything. We would love to be lucky enough to stay at Elena's apartment again, there was a lovely wee surprise for us as we departed, nice! We can 110% recommend her as a host, and her apartment as a lovely base to stay and visit Rome. Thanks Elena!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Elena's. The flat is clean, up to date, but stylish. She went out of her way to arrange a driver for us to meet us at the airport which was very helpful after our long journey. The apartment is nicely situated near the Forum, the Colosseum, and there is even Michelangelo's statue of Moses around the corner at San Pietro in Vincoli. She left us snacks and pasta and sauce, which was very thoughtful and answered all my questions quite promptly via messaging. We were very comfortable, my husband, daughter and I. The terrace was lovely with a little orange tree and blooming honeysuckle; it helped our laundry dry quickly as well and provided a pleasant place to eat a supper or relax, with nice breezes. Grazie, Elena for your warm hospitality!

Great Location and Super Host (USA May 2015)

If you want to stay in the heart of Ancient Rome then look no further than this apartment. 2 minutes walk from the all sights on the Via Forum and close to many superb restaurants. The apartment is clean with a lovely veranda to enjoy the warm sunshine and Elena is an attentive host for whom nothing is too much trouble. The airport transfer she arranges and the tourist information in the flat made the whole experience stress free and a must repeat for us.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Location very near Cavour Metro stop/ You could easily make connection from Airport to Termini then to Metro stop Cavour, then walked about 2 1/2 blocks vs using taxi service if you travel light. Enjoyed large terrace.

 

Absolutely Charming! (April 2015)

My husband and I arrived in Rome to spend nearly two weeks in this wonderful apartment. Elena arranged for our pick up at the airport, and Alessandro was wonderful. The apartment is lovely, thoughtfully decorated, and has everything we needed to thoroughly enjoy our stay. The location is perfect, being just a few blocks from the Colosseo, the Forum, the Paletino, and other wonderful sites. If we have the opportunity, we will definitely return!

 

A great apartment and wonderful owner (march 2015)

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in this apartment, which is just as it appears in the pictures. It was meticulously clean when we arrived, and all of the "infrastructure" (stove, refrigerator, toilet and shower, washing machine, TV, etc.) were in perfect working order. Of particular importance to us, the bed was both large and comfortable. The apartment is spacious and very pleasant, with a window on the street from the bedroom and a spacious terrace off the living room. Although it was a bit too cold in mid-March of this year (2015) to make use of the terrace, it was lovely and would certainly be an extra treat in warmer weather. My husband and I have been to Rome together 5 times but had never stayed in the Monti neighborhood before, so the opportunity to stay in a new part of the city was great for us. The Monti has lots of "character" and is a not too terribly touristy area (but an easy walk to the Colosseum, various Fora, etc.), with lots of restaurants, enotecas, shops, etc. In particular, we would recommend L'Asino d'Oro (a leisurely 15-minute walk from the apartment), where we had one of the best and most creative meals we have ever had in Italy. It's contemporary and innovative so if you're looking for a classic rustic trattoria, this is not it, but you will have amazing food here and the staff was very friendly. The little enoteca called Fafiuche (via della Madonna dei Monti) was also terrific. As for Elena, the apartment owner, she was unfailingly helpful and a truly lovely person. She is happy to provide assistance and recommendations to make your stay memorable.

A fantastic host, who really focused on the small details to ensure our pleasant stay. We were provided with a welcome kit that consisted of city maps, brochures, and all of the ingredients necessary to cook a lovely pasta dinner, which we ate on the terrace. Just steps from the Colosseum and authentic Italian restaurants, this is a great place to explore the city by foot. A great hostess and a great apartment, I would definitely recommend this property for couples or small families! You will not be disappointed :)

Elena was the perfect host! She arranged for a car to pick us up and deliver us to her wonderful apartment. She was waiting for us and went over everything. There was a basket with all the ingredients for an easy pasta dinner and another one with breakfast items. The apartment was everything we needed and we enjoyed having a patio. The location is near the Colosium and Forum and next door to Michaelangelo's Moses. The neighborhood was safe. Grocers and restaurants nearby.Metro down the street. We would stay there again.

My parents and I spent a few days at this wonderful condo! This was our first trip to Rome and we wanted to stay in a central location. I cannot say enough about how wonderful this condo is. It is centrally located, only a few blocks to the major Ancient Rome attractions, including the Colosseum. The condo is immaculate and the terrace was gorgeous. It actually looks better in person! There are restaurants close by as well as a metro stop which will lead you all around Rome, including the Vatican. The area was very safe! The building was very secure. There are only two flights of stairs which are very manageable even with large luggage. Elena was also an incredible help and really cared to make sure we had a great time. Her English is superb! I will stay here again when I return to Rome!!

We had a fabulous stay. Landlady met us at train statio and brought us to the apartment, which is beautifully furnished and located 20 metres from Mchelangelo'Moses in the basilica next door. The neighborhood is friendly with good trattorias and walking distance to everything. Would absololutely stay here again when in Rome. Highly recommend.

Отличное местоположение, тихая улица, близко к достопримечательностям. От метро пара шагов, рядом отличные кафе, рестораны, недалеко супермаркет. Небольшие, но очень комфортабельные апартаменты: спальня, кухня-гостиная и большая веранда - идеально для двух-трех человек. Встретили в аэропорту (50 евро), все показали, рассказали.

My husband and I had just spent a week on the Amalfi Coast with friends and Rome was our last stop before heading back to Canada. We found Elena's apartment and were instantly impressed with her quick response to our inquiry. The location was within walking distance of restaurants, the Coliseum and Forum, Vatican, shops, museums and churches. The listing is very accurate and the apartment was very clean and well-maintained. Having a kitchen and private terrace were important to us and did not disappoint! Elena and her husband were very attentive to our questions and needs. They arranged a car to the airport on the day we left. Truly great service. We would highly recommend staying here. Thank you Elena for making our trip to Rome very comfortable!

Io e mia moglie ci siamo sposati negli stati uniti, volevamo un soggiorno esemplare tornando in patria, siamo arrivati alla residenza Sette Sale sognando una vacanza nel cuore artistico medievale della città eterna. Siamo stati sorpresi dalla cortesia dei proprietari, in un appartamento che riflette lusso e benessere ad ogni angolo, Una cesta con viveri e istruzioni per confezionare manicaretti tipici locali, guide per i luoghi di interesse, una pulizia esemplare anche nello stupendo terrazzo.

La zona è fornitissima anche di ogni tipo di negozi e di ottimi ristoranti anche etnici

Ringraziamo di cuore Elena e Luca che ci hanno permesso di vivere tre giorni da sogno, siamo partiti con promessa di tornare appena possibile.

Il miglior regalo che possa fare a chiunque voglia essere coccolato e viziato nel cuore di Roma è consigliare di soggiornare nella "Residenza Sette Sale", un magico appartamento.
